WAYS TO VOLUNTEER

Breakouts

Are you someone who is good at problem solving and has basic AV knowledge?

As a part of the Breakouts Team you will help with AV set-up and breakdown, signage set up, room counts, evaluation distribution and collection, speaker support, etc. Basic knowledge of computers and data projectors necessary.

YS Store

Are you great at customer service and sales?

As a part of the YS Store Team you will help with set-up, counting, stocking, resource promotion, smiling, cash registers, and customer service.

Hub

Are you energetic, people oriented and an extrovert?

As a part of the Hub Team you will assist youth workers and staff through answering questions from A to Z, smiling, listening, registering for future events, problem solving.

Speaker Host

Do you enjoy behind the scenes work, serving, and caring for our speakers?

As a part of the Host Team you will make sure our Speaker’s Lounge and Green Room are stocked for speakers to enjoy a place to rest, recharge and get some work done. You will make sure speakers are where they need to be and help them with their schedule while they are onsite.

Hospitality Team

Do you enjoy serving others, making people’s days better, and are up for spontaneity?

As a part of the Hospitality Team you will welcome attendees, create pop-up experiences during the event, provide high-energy excitement, and go above and beyond to make attendees feel cared for and celebrated.

Exhibit Hall

Do you love youth ministry organizations, helping equip youth workers with resources, and caring for others?

As a part of the Exhibit Hall Team you will help our exhibitors get checked in, answer questions, problem solve, encourage exhibitors, and create a welcoming presence in the exhibit hall.

Check-In

Want to volunteer AND experience NYWC as an attendee?

As part of the check-in team you will help attendees get checked-in. You will attend NYWC so the perks of being on the check-in team vary slightly.

Volunteer Requirements

It is imperative that you are available for the duration of NYWC. Applicants available for only part of the time will not be selected.

You must arrive in Columbus by Wednesday, November 18^th, by 9AM for our volunteer kick-off meeting. You will be finished on Sunday, November 22 by 5:30pm.*

* Check-in volunteers must be ready for orientation on Thursday, November 19 at 8:30am. You will be finished on Friday, November 20 around 2:00pm.

We love it when our volunteers can take advantage of all the amazing training opportunities available at NYWC. Depending on your role, though, you may not be able to take in as much of Convention as you’d like. NYWC is a jam-packed, fast-moving event, but it’s exhilarating and rewarding to serve your fellow youth workers. In addition, you’ll receive a free download card so you can catch up on all you missed while working!
